The compiz-trinity package, is really old, don't install it. Compiz coming from your distribution should be much beater.<br />

==Bug and workaround==<br />
<br />
There's an incompatibility with the default window manager (twin). Compiz fails to properly start, when translucency is active in the default window manager, and it's active by default. You need to deactivate translucency in:<br />
<br />
trinity control center > Desktop > Window Behavior > translucency<br />
<br />
Then you can start using Compiz in:<br />
trinity control center > appearance > Window decorations > Window manager<br />
<br />
or with the command:<br />
compiz --replace</div>imported>Waves
